IELTS Letter To A Friend

Sample Answer

Dear Ali,

Hi, I hope you're well and that you're enjoying the new semester at university. I'm sorry to tell you that we won't be able to meet next month as we had planned. unfortunately I have to go away on a field trip as part of my coursework and I won't be in town. I'll be away for about 15 days. I was really looking forward to seeing you again, but I suppose we'll have to plan it for another time. I'm sorry, I just found out today about the field trip.

I was thinking maybe we could plan it for the long weekend in May, when we should both be free. I don't know if you have already made any travel plans, but if you haven't, then please think about it. We haven't seen each other for such a long time, it would be great to spend some time together again and there will be lots of stuff we can do here that weekend.

Please write soon and tell me what you think.

Lots of love,

Sarah
