In some countries, schools now make it compulsory for teenagers to do unpaid work in certain companies and institutions. What are some of the benefits of this for both the students and the companies and institutions involved.

There are undoubtedly many positive aspects to young people being encouraged to spend some time working for a company or institution, for both the young people and the enterprises who offer such opportunities.

Firstly, from the perspective of a young people, such an opportunity can provide an insight into the world of work in general and, more specifically, experience in a particular sector of the business economy. This can lead to the individual forming an impression of work, the entity, and the area in which the organization operates, which, in turn, can help them form an idea of what kind of future career might be of interest to them. Even if the work experience is not ideal, it can still help young people clarify their own thinking regarding their future career path and work goals, and what might interest them.

From the perspective of employers, the companies and institutions involved, it is an excellent opportunity to engage with young people, explain their brand, operations, and gain insight into the current mindset of the young generation. This can help in the formulation of career development plans within the organization and help employers refine their own future employee profile based on current trends and thinking influencing young people. Of course, it also provides an opportunity for employers to gain a first-hand impression of possible future employees, and provide guidance as to their career development choices if they show interest in the organization.

In conclusion, such scheme offers excellent potential benefits for both parties involved, and such interaction is essential for both young people and business entities and other enterprises, and is something which should be positively encouraged.
