IELTS Task 1 Writing Sample Answer:

Dear Sir,

I am writing to express my concern at the lack of service offered by your staff in your store located in Chelsea High Street.

Four days ago I purchased a Krups 203 Electric Coffee and Spice Grinder there. Purchasing it was a straightforward process but when I tried to use it at home the next day I found that it wasn't working. I checked everything according to the instruction book before calling the store to ask for advice.

When I called I was first put on hold and when someone eventually attended to me they were not knowledgeable about the product in question. They had to find another assistant to answer a few basic questions. I was left waiting for almost 45 minutes in total, spoke to three different people and my problem was still not resolved.

Therefore, I would like to request that I be refunded the cost of my purchase without further delay. I will be happy to produce my sales receipt and credit card purchase voucher in any of your stores to effect the reimbursement.

I look forward to your positive response.

Your faithfully

Michael Mortensen
