IELTS Writing Task 1 | A Letter about Giving a Talk to Students

Dear Sir/Madam,

I understand that you are looking for volunteers to talk about their work for the benefit of your students. As an ex-student of the college, I would like to participate in this event as I believe that the students would find my work interesting.

My work involves research in a high-technology area and its application to artificial intelligence in consumer products for the future. High-tech AI is a hot topic for students as they are the future consumers of such products. I also believe that your students would find the details of how we do research and product development very engaging.

Next month, in January, I will have some free time on the 11th and 12th and could travel to the college to present my talk, either in the morning or afternoon, whichever is more convenient for all involved. Please let me know as soon as possible if you would be interested, and confirm the date and time of the talk.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Yours sincerely,

John Smith
