The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and in 2010. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.


Write at least 150 words.

The maps show the improvements made in terms of access to the City Hospital over a three-year period from 2007 to 2010.

Major improvements include the addition of a public car park on the east side of the hospital with a dedicated public entrance to the hospital, whereas entry before was by means of the shared staff/public entrance on the south side, leading from the shared public and staff car parking facilities which were originally located outside the south entrance to the hospital.

Also, the original individual bus stops, which were located in the old car parking area have been incorporated into a new bus station located on the west side of Hospital Road.
Hospital Road has also been modified to include two roundabouts: one at the north end and the other at the south end of the road.

Finally, the original multi-purpose car park has now been designated exclusively for use by staff and is no longer open to the public.
