Essay Topic: Describe a Part of Your City
Here are some ideas to help you develop your essays in response to essay questions that ask you to describe a part of your city.
Describe a part of your city that you enjoyed
There is a part of my city that I enjoyed visiting. It is the zoo in my city. It was very big and had a lot of animals in it. There were many birds, monkeys, snakes, lions, and tigers too. We went to this zoo last year when it was our school's annual picnic. Although I am not that much interested in wildlife, it gave me immense pleasure to look at these creatures closely. Even though the animals are behind bars, I find it so interesting because there are many gathered together from different parts of the world.
Describe a part of your city or a town you enjoy spending time in
One place I enjoy spending time is the Shire (a district of Randburg). I have made many friends there, and basically, it is a place where you can just relax. The people are great and friendly. There are areas to 'chill' with the kiddies, or you can just sit on one of the benches and watch them play; parents will often gather around while their children are playing. Most people have barbecues during the weekend sometimes, so smoke fills the air.
Dogs run free in this area, although there are times when they tend to be aggressive towards dogs that aren't familiar with them - for reasons unknown to me (this has only happened twice though).
People get together in large numbers for social activity, whether it's having a picnic or just to play ball with the dogs.
You can often hear people talking and laughing while you are running past, it's a pretty cool place to be in! There are also giant gazebos that help during hot summer days!
It is also great to ride your bike through because there's plenty of space between the trees, and they provide shade not only from the sun but also from the oncoming rain - though I've never seen this area get flooded by rainwater.
Describe a part of the city/town
Well, the central part is very historical, it has beautiful buildings and a cute cathedral. We can see the river there, which is very fun to watch when you're seated on a bench under a tree.
People are running around, trying to get a seat in one of the neighborhood's best cafes or bars.
There's also a nice market nearby where we can get some fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers while listening to good music playing in the background.
There are plenty more things to do! The neighborhood's got that European vibe with an urban twist, and it's always crowded but at the same time peaceful.
Describe your favorite part in your city
My favorite part would have to be downtown Columbus. It's not the most exciting place in the country, but there are still plenty of great things to do, and it's home to some amazing dining experiences.
For example, you can visit a famous Zanesville restaurant, Buckeye Donuts. This place is known for serving some of the best donuts in all of Ohio. It's a small shop, but they always have plenty of food prepared and ready to go! You can walk there from downtown or take an Uber that will only cost around $3 - 4 dollars depending on traffic.
If you're not feeling like some donuts, another great option would be The North Market, located just north of Downtown Columbus, which is just a short walk away from certain hotels.
I love markets! This one blows most others out of the water with smells coming from local vendors and fresh foods galore! The variety at The North Market is incredible too!
Describe a part of your city that you enjoy spending time in
I usually enjoy spending time in my city's public parks. I enjoy the various attractions available at these places such as playgrounds, picnic tables, and sports courts.
Attractions usually available in the parks include walking trails, jogging tracks/paths, and many types of trees. The fact that they offer so many activities is a bonus to this fun environment for people of all ages.
Most parks also have some kind of water access included; it can be a lake, river, pond, or pool depending on where you live. These bodies of water often contain boats for rental and fishing spots (at more rural locations) allowing visitors to have the chance to take advantage of them if they wish.
These things are definitely what makes my city worth living in!
How has your city changed in the last 10 years?
There have been many changes to the city of Dayton. Montgomery County, Ohio, is growing rapidly, due to its close proximity to downtown Cincinnati (only about a 20-minute drive from one side to the other).
The cost of living is relatively cheap and many new housing developments are being built all over.
The influx of businesses moving in has created jobs for people looking for work, which means that they have joined our growing community.
During the last 10 years, there has been an increase in crime rates because these new businesses tend to hire ex-cons who don't always follow proper protocol when dealing with clients so their criminal activity tends to spill into the streets.
More congested traffic is clogging up our main roads causing buses and cars alike to be late or not arrive at all. Another major change and source of concern is the increase in homeless people.
Many people have been victims of the growing number of crimes committed by previously mentioned ex-cons. Some of them became homeless and are unable to rebuild their lives or get a job because they lack proper identification cards like driver's licenses and social security numbers.
There is a lot of crime going on now and it's only going to get worse if we don't do something about it.
The government needs to take some action before this problem gets out of hand.
The local authorities should start looking into the matter at once so that more people aren't victimized. They need to send an investigation team to find out what exactly is happening with our tax dollars.
