Are interviews the best way to select candidates for a job?
Personality Essay
It can be hard to articulate your feelings about yourself and how others perceive you. I believe that I am a genuine, thoughtful young lady. I strive hard and work for what I want even if it isn’t handed to me.
I worked hard to get to this point in life and am working even harder now to have a successful career. Indeed, I care more for others than myself. But some people might see me as indifferent about my safety and well-being because of my nonchalant attitude.
I avoid showing strong emotions. It is easier to see the brighter side of things because I’m an optimist. As I reflect on my past, I'm always conscious of what I can do better next time. If something goes wrong I never dwell on it, at some point, it becomes pointless, so it's better to focus on the present-day instead.
My parents taught me the pillars of kindness and thoughtfulness; they also emphasized not to trust others and to always believe in myself. Although I do not share all their mindset, these lessons have helped shape who I am today. I know that I have a positive attitude and a lot of self-confidence, thanks to my hard work.
Last but not least, the humanistic approach to personality has more of an impact on me than the psychodynamic because it involves nature vs. nurture, and those concepts are what best describe me. Environment and genetics are the two main factors that affect my attitudes and actions. Briggs conducted different psychotherapy techniques to determine how things in a teenager's life affect teenagers differently. The study was successful and proved that adolescents interpret the same issues in different ways.
From the humanistic perspective, my personality is revealed by my thoughts and feelings. In other words, I can better understand myself through introspection or deep analysis of my actions. My behavior and experience only partially reflect what I am like as a person, but what goes on in my mind cannot be underestimated because it has more power than anything else.
In general, the humanistic approach to personality analysis is the best one, as it insists that people are all unique and have their own personalities, which cannot be exactly alike. While many may believe this theory, I think humans wouldn't be as advanced if they didn't differ in some way from one another even though their personalities are complex.

Personality Discussion Questions
How can I write about my personality?
Keep in mind that too much information could confuse your reader. Seriously, there's no need to describe every little detail about what you think or whether you brushed your teeth this morning - just provide a few interesting points about yourself.
You can do this by discussing your life, traits, likes, and dislikes.
You could mention your sense of humor and an activity that you like to do when you're not studying for college or working.
These two things are interesting! Who doesn't want to know more about personalities?
Let me tell you why I think those two parts are such a pleasure to read about - it's because they show the reader some flair (humor) and personality (enjoying sports, for example). That tells me that we have the making of a fun human being right here.
You could try exploring some popular terms people use to describe their personalities.
What are 5 words to describe yourself?
- Ambitious, debate-loving, a leader, confident, and organized.
- Humble, patient, affectionate, determined, and creative.
How would you describe yourself?
I am a person of many interests, with one true passion in life. In a career spanning over two decades (so far) and across three different fields, I've always had my attention on the upstream effects of a product's design or function. Design that elicits an emotional response from users is what drives me most at this point in my life. It keeps everything fresh and interesting.
What personality traits do employers like?
Employers want to know that you have intelligence, ambition, drive and enough energy to complete tasks.
Employers will be assessing whether there are any personality traits they should be concerned about. You're not going to get a job if the person doing the hiring thinks that you're exceedingly unprofessional or detestable for instance.
They'll do their research by asking questions like "is this candidate difficult to work with?", "honest?" etc.
If in doubt as to what kind of answers would best reflect your personality, think about who your ideal employee would be, and answer normally as if you were them instead of yourself. Do not lie! If an employer trusts what they see on your resume, don't give them any reason to doubt it.
Can you describe a trait of your personality that is special to you?
I would say one special personality trait is that I have a strong sense of justice. It often leads me to take up causes or stand up for people who can't stand up for themselves. I also tend to be very optimistic, which helps me stay positive even in difficult situations.
